This being the first part to paint I made it, model wise the biggest one. My plan was to get over that hump as soon as possible and then coast throughout the challenge. But, I also know myself and my particularities so I know that this army will grow over its confinements too. They all do.
I’m proud to say that the unit of 12 ogres with great weapons and full command, "The Proud” is done!
The banner is my take on a detail a larger picture.
From Wiki
"Pride of the spirit is one of the five temptations of the dying man, according to Ars moriendi. Here, demons tempt the dying man with crowns (a medieval allegory to earthly pride) under the disapproving gaze of Mary, Christ and God. Woodblock seven (4a) of eleven, Netherlands, c. 1460."
The banner is made of a tin tube of tomato paste. The folds are formed with a tool with a round end.
All the models are primed wraithbone and all the basecoats are made with speedpaint/contrast/xpress. highlighted with a white ink mixed with the contrast. Metals are Vallejo Burnt Iron, washed with armypainter dark wash, highlighted and scratched with vallejo game air silver.
