Warhammer Renaissance armyproject 2024

Inspired, like many before us, by the White Dwarf articles series "A Tale of Four Gamers" (WD 218->);
a couple of Swedish Warhammer enthusiasts recently decided to make a small armychallenge for the coming year. Beginning January 2024, we will be introducing and presenting our armyprojects monthly.

The guidelines are as follows:

2000 points worth of army, for the fan-made Warhammer Renaissance ruleset, presented each month in batches of ~400 points.

We will each start the year by introducing our respective armyprojects and ideas.
The sixth and last month will be for finishing leftovers or extras, summarizing our efforts and presenting our finished armyprojects.

Part 1: Presenting the armies - Markus Empire army of Sölfitzburg

Once upon a time a friend of mine offered me to buy his Empire models. I was new into the hobby and thought why not as I didn't have a Warhammer Fantasy army. I traded with two of the empire Ogres. I got a Steamtank, 5 Outriders, 3 mortars, 2 greatcannons, 1 Hellblaster and a bunch of Knights of the white wolf. So even if I regret loosing the ogres I think it was a pretty ok deal.

The trade was made in 1996 and the models are still unpainted. I have always been thinking on colours and paint schemes but never painted an army. I think it's about time I actually paint them.

My collection of Empire models has grown over the years but it has done so without plan. “Rule of cool” and opportunities has decided what I have bought.

I have decided to paint my army in red and yellow with blue details as that is the colours of the heraldry of Sölvesborg, my hometown. So my brave soldiers comes from the wealthy emperial town of Sölfitzburg.
